"Give. Back. Pack."statebags.com
STATE designs and produces bags for men, women, and children – including signature STATE backpacks, duffels, wristlets, and pouches.
STATE is committed to helping children living in challenging or critical circumstances, and to shifting the narrative around social injustice. For each STATE bag purchased, the company donates one fully-stocked backpack to an American child in need. The company also runs #WhatDoWeTellTheKids projects – an article and video series pushed across the brand’s social channels and on its website – to shed light on social injustices and marginalized populations across the United States. Topics covered to date include #BlackLivesMatter, Chicago’s violence epidemic, and LGBTQ issues.
Husband-and-wife team Scot and Jacq Tatelman have backgrounds in non-profit work: they perviously founded the Country Roads Foundation to serve children in underfunded communities in and around New York City. They founded STATE to help further equip these children after watching them carry their possessions in ripped trash bags. Since its founding, STATE has gained notice among major for- and not-for-profit organizations alike, partnering with The Honest Co., Beyoncé’s #BeyGOOD charitable initiative, Nordstrom, Shopbop, and Rockets of Awesome to expand their reach and impact across the United States.
